Fundraising for Church Ministries

Every church, when it starts needs a lot of money. Even some old churches need money to rebuild itself. If you are one of them, you need to rely on some basic tips to raise the money. Getting the youth to take part can be positive, because they are the source of high and vibrant energy can yield positive results.

  • A usual trend is to announce in the church about the cause. Make people understand the value of the cause. If the congregation is satisfied about the cause, the money will start to flow by itself. If the response is lukewarm, do not hesitate. Go out to each house and people would readily give.
  • The youth of the church can contribute a lot with their service. They can go around to houses and do some household chores. They can help in cleaning the house, doing shopping etc. and get some money in return. This will save the house of unnecessary tension to look for outside people who will charge high rates.
  • Another good way is to organize games, for children and adults. Various kinds of games can keep the people interested and can be a good source of income also.
  • Organizing a fair is another option which will have a sure way of income and enthusiasm.
  • Many churches nowadays opt out for lottery or scratch cards to raise money. This is a unique way in which the lottery cards or scratch cards are sold to general people. The cards cost should be set low so that even the poor can buy one. The rich may buy more. The lottery card will have a lucky draw in which those with the lucky numbers will get prizes. When the scratch cards are scratched, the hidden code reveals a prize, which may vary from cash prize to any high priced gifts.
  • Discount cards or coupons are another choice. For this you have contact a local retailer who is ready to offer a discount on their products. You have to then make or get discount cards which will be sold to the public who want to buy the discounted products. The commission on the discount is your profit.
  • Retreats can be an alternative to all the commercial or entertaining kinds of works. Organize a retreat or prayer meeting asking everyone to contribute. Provide a good service and your pocket will be flowing.
  • You could also try flamingo flocking. Learn more from www.flamingoflocking.com. Flocking teams earn upwards of $1300 per day by placing 10 or more plastic pink flamingos on the lawns of unsuspecting donors in the middle of the night. The donors will then pay a flocking fee to have the birds removed and could opt to give an additional donation to choose the next flocking victim. Additionally, these groups have sold flamingo flocking insurance equal to the donation to avoid having their lawns flocked. A fundraiser like this can cost only $200 to $500 dollars and has the highest pay back. Plastic flamingos can be purchased from www.plastic-flamingos.com.
  • Get-togethers are an even better way. Call for a mass get-together. Ask people to come with their spouses, family, relatives or friends. Serve food and drinks. Ask someone to sing or dance to make the event more memorable.
  • If there are any good cooks within you, try to do different dishes and announce a dinner, maybe at a get-together.
  • Organize a tour to an orphanage or old-age home. People are sure to rush in with a lot of services especially funds.
  • Competitions can be a craze among students. Conduct a bible quiz for adults and give prizes. Collect money from the audience.
  • The youth hold a big key to these kinds of projects. Responsibility can be fun. It can be a great way to learn also.

20 ways church ministries can raise money
Summary: Fundraising for the church ministries can at times be a very difficult task. The article describes ways of raising money for your church..

The following are the 20 ways through which church ministries can raise funds:

1. Have yard sales: Members of the church can sell their unwanted items. Huge amounts of money can be raised through yard sales. Members can donate baby items, clothing, kitchen gadgets or unwanted furniture.

2. Purchase items at low cost and sell them: Items such as chips and colas can purchased from sales at stores and can be sold at different events. Parades and sporting events are great opportunities to sell different products bought from sales.

3. Bake Sale: Volunteers can bake and cook different items such as cakes, brownies or potato salad and banana split and can sell them for fundraising. These goods should be put in containers and can be sold at local markets and busy streets.

4. Car wash: Car washes can be advertised through newspapers and flyers. Members can perform the car wash by using wax, perfume and other stuff. It can prove to be a great activity for youths.

5. Make stuff and sell: Members could be asked to make stuff at home such as ornaments and hand woven items and these could be sold at events held in the4 church.

6. Penny run: Members can gather and knock at each door so as to get the pennies from each house. One member should first explain the cause for which money will be spent. People will be more than willing to give spare pennies for a good cause such as church ministries.

7. Selling religious items: Different stuff such as bookmarks, Bibles< religious songs could be sold in the church yard. This can gather huge amounts of money for the church.

8. Auction: The church can hold auctions where the stuff voluntarily donated by the members can be auctioned. Stuff which is auctioned can include books, furniture and toys.

9. Ask for donations: Members can go door to door in the neighborhood and ask for donations. People normally do not mind giving stuff rather than money.

10. Use fundraising cans:
These cans can be placed on the church entrances or can be passed around to everyone during the sermons where people can put cash in these cans and boxes.

11. Races: Different races can be held for a small fee for the participants. There can be different races for the young and elderly.

12. Cookie dough fundraiser: These fundraisers can help to raise more than 40-50% profits.

13. Candle fundraiser: Candles are very much popular and are sold in huge quantities.

14. Scratch card fundraising: It is one of the latest fundraising methods and is fast, simple and easy.

15. Flamingo Flocking: This is a fun way of fundraising and doesn’t require much initial investment.

16. Collect cans for recycling:
Members could be asked to collect cans at home. All of those cans could then be collected and sold at buy-back recycling centers.

17. Hold a fancy dinner: A few members can prepare dinner and then sell the tickets to the dinner for high prices. Unusual items can be placed in the dinner to increase interest.

18. Get a famous or popular person at your fundraiser: However, you should plan beforehand as you might lose more than you might earn.

19. Set-up challenge campaigns: Gifts can be given to members who will raise the most money. E.g. paying $10 Bible for raising $100.

20. Hold a phon-athon:
Members can keep on calling their friends and family who can help raise the required amount until and unless the target is achieved.

Yard Decoration for Spring

As soon as the spring arrives, you start thinking about the garden decor of your home. Your home value can increase with a backyard landscape or an eye catching garden area. The outside of the house not only reveals what is inside but also about people who live there. With little investment of time and money, you can easily decorate and make your yard attractive for guests and by-passers. Decorating the lawn or back yard during spring can be very enjoyable. This will help to reduce your stress and is also good for health. It is not a hard work if some tips are followed:

  • Start with mowing and cleaning the lawn. It is very important for the yard to have a neat look. Cemented area should be clean of dirt and grease stains. Clean the dry branches and debris from the yard. Dead grass and leaves should be removed by loosening the soil by raking. Wild and undesired weeds should be removed from the sidewalks and around the trees.
  • Empty the pots and pull out old plants. Add fertilizers and fresh soil to all the pots to plant new flowers in them. If there are any holes in the yard, fill them with this mixture of soil and fertilizer too.
  • Tilling the soil of your yard is an important part of landscaping so that the soil does not contain any ice crystals. After tilling, the readiness of soil for planting can be assured if it crumbles easily in hand.
  • Plants are the foundation of tools to beautify the exterior of the house. Evergreen and other flowering shrubs like roses and silk flowers can add a color to you spring yard decor.
  • Carefully plan the plants and pots decoration in front of the entrance. Decorate it with shrubs that are very attractive to look. They give a nicer and pleasant look if they are outlined in round or bowl shape. Always keep the tall shrubs in corner of the yard.
  • You can make your Landscaping appear more colorful by using stones. You can use landscaping stones that blend with the surrounding or you can decorate your lawn with contrasting color tones available in market, to compliment or contrast with your home color.
  • Usually when yard decoration is planned, only plants are considered for the purpose and ornamental decoration is completely forgotten. There is a variety of items available to beautify your yard like bird house, wind chimes, plastic and wood sculptures of flamingos. You can visit http://www.plastic-flamingos.com/ to select your plastic flamingo yard decor in spring.
  • Include a play area for your children in your yard where you can keep a watch on them while they play. An addition of paved area for cycling, skating or other outdoor games that can be enjoyed by children during spring can also enhance the beauty of the yard.
Spring is the best time to decorate your yard with landscaping and gardening. You can cherish what Mother Nature has provided and enjoy the work you are doing in spring to decorate your yard.

Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring, It's time to decorate your lawn!

Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring, It's time to decorate your lawn!
Have you ever thought of decorating or renovating your lawn? If so, this spring is your time to bring your dream of a beautiful lawn come true. Welcome this spring with most beautiful and lovely greenish lawn and make your neighbors envy your garden. It is no doubt a beautiful lawn will add more beauty and value to your house. It is always a moment of pride when someone admires your house for its beauty. Don’t you want to experience this moment in your life? Don’t you want your neighbors to rush to your house asking for tips to maintain such a beautiful lawn? If you wish so, here are few tips to decorate your lawn in this spring.

Spring is often considered the right time to start decorating your lawn. It is time when you can renew your lawn to get back its beauty and charm. You might have also seen people realizing this start weeding, fertilizing, blowing, seeding, and aerating all the same day. This never helps and only plays a spoilsport. There are certain things you should do to start with your decoration. Green and lush garden are always a treat to our eyes. So keep your lawn green and lush. This requires proper maintenance of your garden. Test your soil for its strength, aerate your lawn to improve the oxygen supply to the soil, remove weeds, provide the required nutrients to the soil and water regularly.

Apart from maintaining a green and lush garden, few other decorations add more beauty to your lawn. You can start your decoration with few pieces of rocks lying around your house. You can decorate your garden with large and small rocks with large ones placed at the centre and the smaller ones placed along the pathways. Decorating your lawn with a bird feeder is also a good choice. These things will attract some birds and thus make your garden active which otherwise creates a stagnant atmosphere.

Another good choice to decorate your garden is using plastic pink flamingos. They are rather inexpensive and add character and color to your yard. Plastic-Flamingos.com has these elusive fun creatures in stock and ready to ship. These are the pick of the town now with people beginning to love these tiny plastic lawn flamingos. These lawn flamingos are available at a cheaper rate and add beauty to your lawn. Decorating your lawn with these flamingos is quite simple as it requires nothing more than a looking sense and placing them at the correct location where you think would look good. The flamingos are now coming at variety of colors and even glowing lawn flamingos are out in the market. So do not try to decorate your lawn with more number of same colored flamingos. Mix it up so that it looks more attractive and eye catching. Also, do not place these decorations in the centre of an empty lawn, as it may look odd. Place them along the sidewalks, near the pool or the side of your house. This will look more obvious and will give a better look to your lawn.

How a Girl Scout troop earned $8700 with plastic flamingos and cookies

How a Girl Scout troop earned $8700 with plastic flamingos and cookies
Summary: Flamingo Flocking is a creative way of fundraising and is increasingly becoming very popular. This article discusses that how a Girl Scout troop managed to raise $8700 through flamingo flocking.

Girl Scouts usually raise funds through different activities and most popular of them is selling cookies. At times these activities can be very monotonous and one begins to lose interest in such activities. There are however fun ways of fundraising as well.

One such fun way is flamingo flocking and can help raise huge amounts of money. You would be surprised to know that Girl Scouts of West Central Florida earned $8700 last month through flamingo flocking.

The question is that how did they do it? And what exactly is flamingo flocking?

Flocking is fun and easy. The troops go late in the night and plant plastic flamingos in someone's yard. They started by flocking flamingos outside friends yards who they thought would appreciate this new idea. For removing the birds from their yards, they required to pay the troops (it was donation, off course). The fun part was that the person could then name the next "victim" of flocking.

They then began to plant these flamingos outside the houses of neighbors after a few days. They were afraid initially, as they didn't know that How might they react. But things turned out just fine and most people loved this idea and donated willingly.

The troop had a flock consisting of 25 pairs of pink flamingos from www.plastic-flamingos.com. Troops work hard to flock these plastic birds outside people's yards. This activity was not only proved to be fun way of fundraising but also helped raise $8700 in just a month.

This method proved to be a success as it was conducted by young girls who were creative in their approach. They used to cover the flamingos with ornaments and wrote very attractive letters hanging on the flamingo's neck which convinced the 'victim' to pay the donation of $10 plus order 3 boxes of cookies. The girls took this activity as a practical joke and loved doing it again and again. The 'victims' also appreciated their approach and loved naming the next 'victims'.

The girls used to price each 'victim' differently. They also planted these flamingos outside businesses that paid $50 for a flocking and loved to name their competitors as 'victims', who turn flocked them again for a higher price.

The girl scout troop is now planning to start a flamingo insurance scheme whereby each victim will have an opportunity to 'protect' the flock for a period ranging from a week to a month, paying for it in advance.

The sight of flamingos planted outside someone's house is beautiful. These flamingos can be planted easily and can be removed without any damage to the garden or yard.

Non-profit organizations should sue this fun way of fundraising as Girl Scouts of West Central Florida through the use of flamingos.
